Give as you Live
You can also support us by just doing some of your internet shopping via the Give as you Live scheme.
Give as you Live is a shopping and price comparison website with a heart. You can shop for products from thousands of leading online retailers; use their price comparison tool to ensure you get the best price and even save money by using the exclusive offers and deals available on our site.
Don’t forget, you can set it up so that a percentage of every purchase you make will be donated to Fight Bladder Cancer.
Where does the money come from?
Like other price comparison websites, it generates money through affiliate marketing. This means that retailers pay a commission each time a sale is generated for them through our site, and they pass at least 50% of this on to the charity of the supporter’s choice.
With thousands of retailers signed up, from supermarkets to just about every high street shop, you can buy almost everything through the scheme and have money donated to Fight Bladder Cancer without it costing you a single penny!
Recycling
Remember the days of Blue Peter, the old fashioned ‘bring n buy sales’ – well some things don’t change. There are lots of fabulous recycling schemes to choose from to help support us.
Cans
Recycling old cans is a great way to raise funds for charity.
Think Cans has compiled a handy database where you can search for the closest place to you that will turn your cans to cash. You can probably get 40p – 50p per kilo, although the price does vary. You could also try contacting your local council to see where your local service might be. And then maybe you will be inspired to donate your takings to Fight Bladder Cancer!
Clothes/textiles
Many people take old clothing directly to charity shops but there are several companies that will collect for you. Visit Rags to Riches
Ink cartridges
Most ink cartridges are able to be recycled, and there are some companies that collect them in exchange for cash which you can then donate to your cause.
Visit Recycle for Charity and choose Fight Bladder Cancer from the charity list.
Mobile phones
If you have recently upgraded to a newer phone or have an old mobile lying around, why not recycle it and then donate the money you earn from it to charity? Many companies buy used mobile phones. Compare and Recycle can help you find the best deals.
Stamps
Citadel Stamps collects used stamps to recycle. They pay charities £7.50 for every kilo of stamps you send them, and accept any postage stamp from around the world. They also have a fundraising account on eBay where they’ll sell rare stamps, donating 90% of the proceeds to charity.
Selling on eBay
If you ever sell something on eBay, why not have a small percentage of the selling price donated to Fight Bladder Cancer? Having an eBay for charity listing with “X% of the sale of this item will benefit Fight Bladder Cancer” can only help you sell that unwanted item!
All you have to do is to choose to have a percentage go to charity. When you list the item, select Fight Bladder Cancer and the percentage you want to donate, and eBay will pass on the donation to us after the sale.
